Umberto Olcese was trained as a Biomedical Engineer, but soon became fascinated with the brain. During his PhD and PostDoc he developed his skills in computational and experimental methods to study neuronal activity. As an Associate Professor at UvA, he investigates the neuron-level mechanisms of multisensory processing and consciousness.
