Micha Heilbron is an Assistant Professor of Cognitive AI at the University of Amsterdam. He studies how brains and artificial systems understand language and make sense of the world, using a combination of computational modelling, deep learning, neuroimaging, and behavioural research. Before joining the UvA, he completed his PhD at the Donders Institute and Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, and a postdoc in the Predictive Brain Lab. For his research he received various grants and awards, including an NWO research talent grant, the Otto Hahn Award, and most recently an NWO Veni, to study language comprehension in LLMs and the human mind.
